hey! you've reached Jack Frost!
"I'm away from a console right now, but leave me a message and
I'll return it as soon as I can! Prank callers will be snowballed-- kidding!"
Christmas Day
[White icicle lights hung from the ceiling, creating the illusion of a soft, frozen moment of gentle snowfall. An illusion furthered by the decorative frost covering the windows, and piles of glitter (fake) snow on the sills. The entire floor had been coated with a shining, reflective plastic top that made it look like an ice skating rink--only without the slipping and sliding, of course--and there were fake tree branches all along the walls, illuminated in soft blues.]
[But, most noticeable of all, was the centerpiece:]
[...which bathed the entire room in a blue glow.]
[And, of course, sitting off to one side, in her matching throne chair, was "Santa Claus"...with one leg casually thrown over the arm of the chair and back resting against the opposite arm, looking quite pleased with herself. Merry Christmas, Jack.]

... wow.
[ And then, of course, the main attraction earned a very round "O" before he recovered. ]
I'm going to have to tell North that you're moving in on his territory, you know.

Call it a hunch, but I don't think he'll mind.
no subject
[ He takes a step closer, looking over the decorations. ]
You really went all out.

[Shifting slightly in her seat, she swung one leg back over the edge of the chair and stood up. The heels she wore clacked softly against the glassy floor, "costume" actually shielding her quite well from the chill in the air, as she crossed the room to come stand beside him.]
I wanted to make tonight special for you. To...thank you. For everything.
[For staying. She knew she wasn't his only reason--just as he wasn't her only--but she was one.]
no subject
You don't have to... thank me. We're in this together, and we both wanted it that way. Right?
no subject
[That was the Frosty she knew. Far more humble than he gave himself credit for, and forever unable to understand why she did have to thank him. More than he would ever know.]
Right.
Which is exactly why I'm doing this. And why you're going to give in, accept it, and enjoy the evening.
